The Geary's Games app, and what it does with your information. Last updated 6 September 2026.
The short version: the app has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. It keeps your game state on your own phone, and the only things it ever sends to us are a push subscription and, if you ask for one, a restock alert, and only if you turn notifications on.
The app is run by Sunshine Fox Cards LLC, a Florida company doing business as Geary's Games, Winter Garden, Florida. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
The life counter, timer, your chosen game and rules tab, and, when the store's leaderboard service is unreachable, a copy of the standings are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. None of that leaves your phone, and clearing the app's site data removes it.
Push notifications. If you turn notifications on, your browser creates a push subscription and the app sends it to our server: an endpoint address issued by Apple, Google or Mozilla for your device, two encryption keys generated by your browser, and the topics you picked (order pickup, restocks, event reminders, standings, news). We use it for nothing except sending you those notifications. Messages are encrypted so the push service that relays them cannot read them. Turning notifications off in the app deletes the subscription from our server, and a subscription the push service reports as expired is deleted automatically.
The App Store and Google Play version of the app, once it is available, has no browser push subscription. Instead the phone issues a device token through Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) and the app sends that token, the platform (iOS or Android) and your topics to our server. Notifications for that version are relayed by Google, and for iPhones by Google to Apple. The token is stored and deleted under the same rules as a web push subscription, and it is not linked to your name or any account.
Restock alerts. If you tap "Tell me when it's back" on a card, we store the card name and game together with your device's push subscription, so the alert can only ever go to the phone that asked. When the store's stock list is next refreshed and that card is back, we send one notification and delete the alert. You can see and remove your alerts in the app under notifications; turning notifications off deletes them all. We do not use them for anything else.
Stock and prices shown in the app come from a copy of the store's own inventory list that we upload to our server. It contains what is for sale and at what price, nothing about customers.
Standings. The store leaderboard lists the first name and initial that store staff enter after an event, with the points earned. It is public inside the app so everyone can see the board. If you would rather not appear on it, tell us at the counter or by email and we will remove your entries.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or anything about your purchases through the app. The store's own website and register keep their own records under the store's normal policies.
Cloudflare hosts the app and our small leaderboard and notification service. Like any web host it sees the ordinary technical details of a request, such as your IP address, for the purpose of serving it.
Card lookups on the Cards tab go directly from your phone to the free public databases Scryfall (Magic), Pokémon TCG API (Pokémon), YGOPRODeck (Yu-Gi-Oh!) and Lorcast (Lorcana). They receive the name you searched for and your IP address, under their own privacy policies. Card images come from those services, from swu-db.com (Star Wars: Unlimited), dotgg (Riftbound), the official One Piece card list at en.onepiece-cardgame.com, Limitless TCG and TCGdex (Japanese Pokémon), and the store's website; small thumbnails of those images are resized by images.weserv.nl, which sees the image address and your IP address. No prices are shown from any of them.
Event listings come from the store's own website, gearysgames.com, and ticket links open there.
Fonts on this page and the diagnostics page are loaded from Google Fonts.
The app is for everyone who plays at the store, including younger players with their families. It asks for no personal information from anyone. Standings entries for younger players are made by staff with a first name and initial only.
